Do you know what ICE is? ICE stands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a U.S. federal agency within the Department of Homeland Security.
Currently, ICE is under controversy for attacking and violating immigrants across the country for lack of documentation or simply living in North America. Though it is true full American citizenship permits greater access or privileges, all people living in the United States have certain U.S. Constitutional rights.
Lack of dissemination of these rights increases the risk of displacement – separating families and children imprisonment. If you are an undocumented citizen, or know of someone who may be an at-risk immigrant, review and share the following rights before responding to an ICE officer. Many thanks to the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) for your service!
