Adopt-a-Park
This program gives community organizations the opportunity to work with the City of Detroit to improve parks by providing better equipment, maintenance, and beautification efforts.
Abayomi adopted Fargo-Fenton Park and helped persuade the City of Detroit Parks and Recreation department to spend monies to renovate the park. As a result, dead trees were removed, a walking trail, garden, and new swings and playscapes were installed.
Abayomi has recently adopted Patton Park and is working with community residents on a park renovation plan.
