One of the primary key benefits is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known in Michigan as the Food Assistance Program (FAP), which is disseminated via the Bridge Card. Other key benefits include: Medicare Savings Program (MSP); Medicare Extra Help – Low-income Subsidy (LIS); Medicaid; Social Security Income (SSI); and the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP); and tax credits, such as the Home Heating Credit and the Homestead Property Tax Credit. Many older adults are unaware they might qualify for SNAP or other key benefits. As such, part of our programming includes outreach and education regarding eligibility.

"Mrs. Stallings was BEYOND helpful. I have an infant child and she took time from her personal schedule to assist me. She has continually checked on my progress and the status on my search for a home. I can’t convey how appreciative I am not only for the program but for her. Above and beyond doesn’t begin to describe what she has done."

"Your coaches work really well with the kids. I can see my son’s improvement since starting the Youth Clinic. He’ll be ready for your league."
- D. Matthews
"I’m so glad that I stopped procrastinating and actually signed up for it. It was well worth it, and even though I had started preparing for owning a home (improving my credit score, etc.), this class has given me the motivation I need to keep working at it."
- K. Harris
"So glad I took the HBE class, there was a lot I did not know and now I do. Munai was great!"

"I was very impressed with Mrs. Sander’s professional, courteous and proactive approach. She helped me initiate a mortgage assistance program when I was not having success on my own. Highly recommended!"
